Learning In An Instant- Temperature

This week’s Learning in an Instant encourages you to get outside with your kids to learn about thermometers and the temperatures of your area in winter.

Learning in an Instant: Temperature

You can begin by briefly introducing the thermometer and explaining or reviewing the words temperature, thermometer, degrees, Fahrenheit, and Celsius. Show your kids how to read a thermometer and ask them to help you figure out the temperature outside.

More Ideas:

  • Record the temperature several times throughout the day. How does it change? Why does it change?
  • Compare the temperature inside with the temperature outside.
  • Record the outside temperature daily. You could make it a part of your morning routine and do so much with this information! Compare the seasons. Graph the temperatures. Make predictions.
